Publishing
How publishing works
- 1
You send the manuscript
A Word file, a PDF, or a document link. It does not need to be finished, formatted or proofread — we would rather see it as it is than wait for it to be perfect.
- 2
We read it and come back to you
We tell you what state it is in, what it needs, and which of our services actually apply. If it needs work we do not do — developmental editing, for instance — we say so rather than sell you something adjacent.
- 3
We agree the scope and the cost
In writing, before anything starts. Typesetting and book design starts at GMD 2,500; everything else depends on extent, format and how much preparation the manuscript needs.
- 4
Design and typesetting
Interior layout and cover run together. You see proofs and you approve them. Nothing is finalised without your sign-off.
- 5
Digital edition and print files
Your book is prepared for the formats you have chosen — digital, print, or both — as files a printer or a store will accept without argument.
- 6
Print coordination, if you want it
We handle specifications and talk to printers on your behalf. You can also take the files and arrange printing yourself.
- 7
Your presence, if you want it
A website, an author profile, somewhere the book lives online. Optional, and it can come later.
What we do not do
We are not a literary agency and we do not sell your book to publishers. We do not write it for you. If your manuscript needs structural or developmental editing before design makes sense, we will tell you — that is a different job, and doing it badly would cost you more than saying so.
Your story, our design
Ready to turn your manuscript into a book?
Send it over. We'll read it, tell you what it needs, and take it from there — no obligation.
