The Tides
High and wide the tides flow
Loud and wild their sound beats the shores
Penetrating to the river banks
Watering the "Banta Faros" beyond required by the fielders
Flooding!
Hooted the bird which calls upon the deaf
The efforts is all futile
All labour lost.
Why do the fish run away from the fishers?
Why also do the young fish run away from their mother fish?
How can they not avoid to be swallowed?
Swimming like their fore fish mothers' mothers.
They transform into invisibility like
Green snakes harbouring in the canopy of green leaves.
The river is a natural resource deserving harness
Navigate as far as Mississippi
You must dwell in high and low tides
The world is ups and downs!
If you sail safely, never forget to praise the lord
The port is a possible passage
Not all have the means but if you charge equally
Never dispute the drowning
The delayed journeys
The shameful assembly
The cross section of the roads
The unfit captain wrecks the boats
They travel the parallels and Transvaal lines
Sailors are but hail those in waters
My pen whispers, weeps and whistles
When the river, sea or ocean swallow those genuine souls,
The echo is loud like the engine of the unlubricated machine
The question is clear as when the bodies shall reach home?
Travelling from foreign waters
The news is not pleasant
The poor travellers are escorted in corpses.
Do we blame them?
They had wanted to raise the standards and change their narratives
The narratives of their forefathers
Who sign the unsuited marriages
Their predicament with poverty
They succumbed to the evening guests and soon fell asleep
The whites looted their resources to built
London, Lisbon, Madrid and Rome
With our glittering stones
The prolonged night breaks in their darkened visions
They were given lines to read
Learning is better than silver and gold
I'm appealing to our thieves
Please return our Silver and Gold
Be assured to be returned your books.
