The Sea And Its Shores

Behind the mangroves grew the Baobabs
Baobabs in sea
Baobabs in the tributaries
I saw them through the sunglasses
How can they survive the salty sea?

Oh no, it is natural and creations are for
The creator
They stand in island
They stand so firm
Listening to the tales and
Dancing the traveling sound of music
From the capital
Witnessing the anchors
Of boats, canoes and cargoes
Facing the shooting squads

They face the highest buildings
They also listen to the national speeches
They are barren though
They don't even bear leaves
They are tasty for the fresh water perhaps

I wonder, why they still survive without food?
They are there to serve the shelter
The hideouts
For the truants
Who perpetrate dreadful crimes
The murders and said slaughters
The executions

So firm the Baobabs
Alive and kicking
Even in the sea
And yes, on its shores.
