Ravenous Poet

In poetry, I find my autonomy
Masticating words without forgery
I control the armoury of my defense
Against the toxic enemy in offense

I fight in the arena of bloodless battles
Including the war of words
Where the villains
Are paying exorbitant prices
For their crimes
Against the primes

Poetry has been my food
Even in the funny mood
I'm a carpenter without wood
Where my diction chases the fools
Away with witty linguistic tools

It is all words thatched and weaved
Beyond the might of the feeble fugitives
Destitute in the poetry's barns

Why travel when you are already there?
In the midst of any prospect of bombardment
On my clandestine apartment,
I survive a ravenous poet...
