My Fear To Celebrate

I was on a long journey from the capital City
To a famous political rallied village, Kabakoto.
I trekked miserably to the village
From Barra I was unwillingly
Forced to pay D50 to Passy Chally
I paid without getting back the change
The apprentice defended his evil act
This is how the drivers are robbing us
Everyday…
The increment is rapid sometimes without legalization
Ten, fifteen, twenty-five, thirty-five, forty, and now
Fifty Dalasis?
Kabakoto doesn't know independence
I trekked for three Kilometers after I failed the argument
I could not get my change
It is a form of cheating
We are cheated in our eyes daily,
What a broad daylight robbery?

I came to the place I can brag "home"
Tiredness took me to the sleeping journey
I traveled in a miserable darkness
I woke up in that horrible darkness
Later in the night, I was terrified
If tomorrow is the independence’s celebration,
How can Kabakoto Village celebrate this?
For Fifty-six years, we still know electricity not
No good road at all
From Kabakoto to Kerr Seleh, it is the worst road in a mobility
We lived it in a century
And every year, our fares are added
Poor services and more cost.
What type of economy system is this?
I didn't learn it in the book.
Poor quality can't attract high cost
My people are in chains.

I woke up today after the terrifying darkness
I was tortured last night
This is of course the usually way
The mental torture
How do I celebrate?

Kabakoto is the centre stage
To different aligning villages
We are the same in many things
Including the poor transportation network

We are about 104 years old, and still treated
Like a baby who is as blind as a bat.
Kabakoto should be independent.

I wanted to make an urgent call
And connect to the wider world but
There was no credit in this town
I had to request this morning
For help thanks to the brother
Where is my independence,
After I'm cornered by a man languishing in
Germany?

We deserve better at Kabakoto.
The gullible gullies should be tarred
The darkness should fade away now
We should drink the pure water
Our women deserve a better healthcare service than the monthly routine.
Our youths deserve a skill training centre

Who should provide these?

After the plough of the initial road
In the promise of a new road to be constructed,
Who was responsible?
Please, spare us a sigh of breathe.
Travelling with the only commercial car
During rainy season can ravage you beyond repair.
I have no choice to celebrate!
