Afrikaners
Far far away I spotted the light
In it was sheltered the dazzling beauty
The glittering grapes
The shining stones
The glistering golds
The itching ivories
And yes
The rest
I gnawed to grasp enough of them
I climbed high the iroko tree via the stem
I was sure of treasuring enough of them
I eventually, realized the flutes
Or was it the vuvuzalas, pianos or drums
Hooting, beating the jazz, mbalakh and bambam in spectrum
I woke up and gazed again the mixture
The unpleasant sight of the light
I then board the flight
Venturing on my usual plight
I saw with my naked eyes the ugliest beauty
Why does nature change its clothes like
A chameleon sheltering in a politician's barn
Puzzling its observers on a rainy day
The rainy sky swallowing the rainbow
Or the rainbow swallowing the clouds
All labour lost
Hope may have been shattered
Because the hero is battered
Like Standard chartered
Alas! The journey withers the account
The myopic mind fails to belief the count
The journey ended with the slide landing
The flight lands on the foreign land
"A bird on flight if tired lands anywhere"
We seemingly landed and unable to pay for the lodging;
Why did the books cheat us?
I wrote to become rich, then;
Why are we poor?
Are we really poor?
We are only rich in words and figures;
When are we going home?
Until we make a choice,
Pay us our worth;
Repay our loans
We apply...
